Obituary of Thomas Cahill

Thomas P. Cahill, 92 of Binghamton died Wednesday August 14, 2013. He was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Emma Cahill; his brother Joseph and Alice Cahill; his sisters, Mary and Tom Brady, Eileen and Kenneth Willerton, Gertrude and Herb Hirschoff; sister in law, Geraldine Cahill. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary A. Cahill; his children, Thomas and Barbara Cahill, Chambersburg, PA, Robert and Christine Cahill, Easton, PA, AnnMarie and Michael Whalen, Conklin; eight grandchildren, Mathew, Brianne and Sean, Robert Jr., Daniel, Brian, Stanley and Lauren, Andrew, Chelsea; a greatgrandchild, Daniel; his brother, Eugene Cahill, Binghamton; several nieces and nephews including special niece Ruthie Hirschoff. He was a member of the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Binghamton for 60 years. Tom retired from the U.S. Post Office in Binghamton and was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Tom loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a lifelong avid fan of baseball and football, especially the NY Yankees and Notre Dame. The family wishes to thank Dr. Lerman for giving us extra years with our dad. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Vestal, Binghamton Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Town of Maine. The family will receive freinds at the J.A.McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Friday from 4-7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Tom may be made to the Church of Saints John and Andrew, 7 Livingston Street, Binghamton, NY 13903.
